Pastor Willie Judie was born January 10, 1919 on Mississippi to the union of Odessa and Lenden Judie, who preceded him in eternal rest. He attended school in Mississippi and Arkansas. Pastor Judie dedicated his life to Christ at and early age. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1940 and obtained the military status of Staff Sergeant.

Thereafter he relocated to Chicago, Illinois and later to Cleveland, Ohio where he was gainfully employed until an on the job accident required him to retire.

In 1960, Pastor Judie organized Assembly Baptist Church with the late Pastor Robert Dickerson of Bethany Christian Church overseer.

He baptized hundreds of souls and gave the right hand of fellowship to those reuniting with the church.

Pastor Judie preached and taught the word of God with little education, but an education from the Holy Spirit. He would often testify that when he could not properly pronounce a word, the "Holy Spirit" gave "utterance" to him - what an anointing.

Pastor Judie was blessed to meet Marie Kirkland when she joined Assembly in 1985. On June 23, 1993, Pastor Judie and Marie Kirkland were united in Holy Matrimony and thereafter, if you saw one you saw the other.

Pastor Judie departed this life on November 16, 2009, his legacy of love includes: his devoted, loving, steadfast, and caring wife, Marie Judie, his God given children, William(Jeannetta), Frances(Lamont), Marilyn, Harold, Vanessa, Earlene (Rick), Charles (Claudette), Jimmy (Sandra), and Deborah (Jerome) and a host of loving relatives and friends.

Mrs. Marie Judie would like to thank all those who have helped to make this service a wonderful homegoing. Thanks to all those who contributed cards, flowers and your time and condolence, Thank you and God Bless.

Waiting at the Door

I can’t explain so deep inside
The very fabric of my soul
Only a heart that grieves such loss
Can ever truly understand

It’s like you’re waiting at the door
Until a loved one comes back home
You feel a longing in your heart
When they appear the longing stops

But in a loss that never ends
You’re always standing at that door
You feel the longing in the breeze
So incomplete and never filled

I cannot find the words to say
Just what it’s like to want forever
Never seeing them again
Just always waiting at the door

Celtic Blessing

May the roads rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rain fall soft upon your fields
And, until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.
